AlcoholEdu

Welcome!

AlcoholEdu is an online, science-based alcohol abuse education and prevention program focusing on the impact of alcohol on the mind and body. The program is based on best practices from the NIAAA Report to College Presidents titled, A Call to Action, and challenges student expectations regarding alcohol-related behavior and the college environment.

Whether or not a student drinks, AlcoholEdu will provide personalized information motivating them to make healthy behavior decisions and how to better handle peers' drinking behavior. The University of Iowa has set high standards for our undergraduates - and we expect our students to meet the challenges and to thrive here. In turn, we will make every effort to ensure our students' success.

We take seriously our obligation to provide the best possible learning environment for students. Over the past decade, we have made great strides in offering our students late-night, social activities that do not focus on alcohol. In addition, we have established policies to address students' alcohol use as well as the harmful effects of high risk drinking. Those policies now include a requirement that all entering students complete AlcoholEdu.
