News & Events

The Anthropology department is home to a number of academic and social events that are open to all who are interested. We host speakers on Friday afternoons at 4 PM in the Colloquium series in room 112 Macbride Hall. For the current list of speakers click here, or visit our archived colloquium schedules here. The graduate student association coordinates less formal presentations of current graduate student research. Many faculty and students attend the Friday noon brown bag talks at the Office of the State Archaeologist, in addition to events in the Museum of Natural History (our neighbor in Macbride Hall). In addition, we have a fall picnic, a social gathering every December, and a May celebration of our graduating Master’s degree students.
