The University of Iowa American Sign Language club was formed during the 1995-1996 school year to serve as a club for those students taking ASL courses through the University. Over the years, we have expanded our base to include students from Kirkwood College in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. We also welcome people who know ASL or are interested in learning more about ASL.
What We Do:
We provide an informal environment for people who wish to improve their signing skills or get practice for upcoming exams or project presentations.
We try to host a few big events each semester to encourage students to meet Deaf people from the surrounding communities. The next "big" event will be our DPN Celebration sometime in April.
