CALL FOR POSTER ABSTRACTS

"Metabolic Engineering And Enzyme Applications"

ABSTRACT AND POSTER PREPARATION GUIDELINES
Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing
Seventeenth Annual Conference "Metabolic Engineering And Enzyme Applications"
October 20-21, 2008

Please submit abstracts (original copy) to: The Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing, University of Iowa, Oakdale Research Park - Suite C100, 2501 Crosspark Road, Coralville, IA 52241, by September 15, 2008. Abstracts will be included in a program booklet which will be available at the conference. Guidelines for the preparation of abstracts and posters are summarized below.

Abstracts may be submitted via email to nancy-ream@uiowa.edu.

ABSTRACTS

(1) Use a 12 point font, Times or Times Roman and "exactly 12 pt" spacing of lines.
(2) The margins are: top 1.5", left 1.5", right 1" and bottom 1".
(3) The title of the paper should be bold faced and ALL CAPS (except where smaller case letters are appropriate to the meaning, example CaM). Leave a single blank line, then type the author's name(s) (first, middle initial,last). Please underline the name of the presenter and place an asterisk by the name of the faculty member or senior author (e.g., Rhonda Newman and Madeline Shea*). On the following line, type the departmental or company affiliation.
(4) Leave a single blank line and type the abstract using single spacing. The title, author's name(s), affiliation, and abstract should fit in the area shown on the template.

POSTER PREPARATION

(1) The poster board has a 44" H x 68" W area for mounting the posters.
(2) Lettering and illustrations on the poster pages must be large enough to be read by attendees from a distance of 3 feet or more.
(3) Each poster must have a title, authors and affiliation section at the beginning. Material should be displayed in logical sequence (e.g., introduction, objectives, results, conclusion) and each sheet should be numbered.
(4)

Authors are responsible for mounting their own poster material on poster boards which will be provided at the conference. They should be put up on Monday evening October 20, 2008, so they can be viewed all day on the 21st. The Center will provide a reasonable supply of clear push pins. Posters should be removed immediately following the poster session and before dinner, since the poster boards are scheduled to be removed for use elsewhere.
