Graduate Programs

Each year the CBB offers predoctoral fellowships to University of Iowa graduate students, funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), and the CBB. Doctoral students enrolled in CBB participating departments are eligible for fellowships. Currently, the program supports 23 fellows, 7 NIH, 4 NSF, and 12 CBB. The program offers interdisciplinary research training in areas that combine basic and applied research in biochemical, biological, chemical, engineering and physical sciences.

Because the CBB is a center, and not an academic unit, students applying for admission to the Biocatalysis Training Program must be enrolled in and apply to the appropriate academic department. For more information on the CBB/NIH Predoctoral Fellowships, see the Fellowships and Training Grants page.

Or browse through participating department web pages:

Biochemistry
Biological Sciences
Chemistry
Chemical and Biochemical Engineering
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry
Microbiology
Pharmacology
