CCL Film and Video Production courses enjoy a remarkable level of technical support.
Our array of field equipment, (total value of $250,000) includes 15 16mm cameras (from Bolexes to Arriflex models S, M, BL and SR); 45 DV camcorders (from Sony model TRV 17s to Panasonic DVX 100s to JVC GYDV 500s); 22 lighting packages (from Peppers to D kits to KineFlo), 17 field audio recorders (from Nagra 4.2s to Fostex FR2 Digitals), 45 tripods and a Mathews doorway dolly and a 20-foot jib arm.
For post-production we maintain 13 16mm editing stations (5 with Moviola, KEM and Steenbeck flatbed editors), 50 FinalCut digital video editing stations, with 3 optimized for animation (Maya) and 3 set up for advanced sound mixing (ProTools). Students now cut film on several of these digital stations. We also have a 16mm JK optical printer and Oxberry animation stand. We use one large (40 x 60) soundstage to support shooting on sets with additional space for blue screen composite work. We have been able to make upgrades our hardware and software on a yearly basis. We have 4 full-time staff dedicated to maintaining the above.
