Background:
Maureen Robertson is jointly appointed with the Department of Asian Languages and Literature. She directs CCL's M.F.A. program in Literary Translation. Her teaching areas are pre-20th century Chinese literature and culture, modern Asian narrative, Nineteenth & Twentieth century East-West cultural critique, literature of Daoism, and translation. She researches and publishes on imperial-era Chinese poetry and literary criticism, and late imperial women writers. Her translations of Tang and Song dynasty poetry and writings by late imiperial Chinese women have appeared in major anthologies and journals.
