Center on Aging Advisory Structure

The Director and Deputy Director of the Center on Aging report to the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Jean Robillard. There are no direct faculty appointments to the Center on Aging. The Director and Deputy Director receive guidance from an advisory group regarding operating strategic direction and progress.


Robert Wallace, MD, UI Irene Ensminger Stecher Professor of Epidemiology and Internal Medicine, serves as Director of the Center. Kathleen Buckwalter, Ph.D., UI Distinguished Professor of Nursing, Psychiatry, and Internal Medicine is Deputy Director

Center on Aging Executive Board

The Board is comprised of faculty from 8 UI Colleges . Members represent a broad range of disciplines, expertise and activities in aging-related research, clinical work and education. The members include:
