Supporting Civic Engagement

At the University of Iowa, the roots of student civic engagement run deep. From a longstanding tradition of campus activism up to today, University of Iowa students see college as a time to grow academically, and as an opportunity to excel as citizens. The aim of the University of Iowa's Civic Engagement Program is to foster this passion for community involvement and, with additional resources, broaden our civic mission to provide more opportunities for our students to work with faculty and community partners to meet local needs and work for social change, at the local level and beyond.

With the help of our alumni and friends, The University of Iowa can enhance its strong tradition of civic participation among students, faculty and community members. We envision a future where every University of Iowa graduate embraces civic participation. Rather than only involving a few, we seek the resources to ensure that the majority of our students have the transformative experience that service to others provides. Your support for the Civic Engagement Program at The University of Iowa will allow us to develop a truly engaged campus and community.
