Purpose and Intended Audience
The conference reviews selected areas of obstetrics and gynecology and primary care. The anticipated audience is women’s health care providers: practicing obstetrician/gynecologists, family physicians, ARNPs, PAs as well as those in training. Topics address office and hospital practice.
This year’s conference highlights obstetric topics including high-risk obstetrics. Participants will receive updates regarding management of neurologic disease, thyroid disease, pulmonary disease, and thrombotic disease in pregnancy. In addition, we will learn about integrated first and second trimester screening for fetal chromosomal abnormality. Resident physicians will present their research projects which include short fetal femur length and pregnancy outcomes, vulvar cancer recurrence patterns, the role of the Pap smear in patient management decisions, low back pain in pregnancy, and preterm premature ruptured membranes in pregnancy. Hot topics in patient care include issues of bioethics in reproductive technology, and an interactive session addressing cultural competency in health care.
