I received my bachelors degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX. Deciding that a little more, um, open-mindedness would suit me, I studied at and received my Masters degree in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder. There I realized that my love of science fiction was a viable academic pursuit. And here I am.

My interests are in 20th century science fiction, more specifically the cyberpunk literatures of the 1980s to present. I also work with graphic novels and film. Right now I'm interested in the portrayals of posthumanism in these literary works and also the visual representations in graphic novels and film. Of course, I have to not be so narrow-minded in my approach to this degree, so I do branch out into other American modern and postmodern texts as well.
