The B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences requires that all students complete a set of Science and Mathematics Foundation courses and Earth Science Foundation Course in addition to the requirements of one of four tracks. These requirements are listed separately.

Science and Mathematics Foundation

Students must complete at least 34 semester hours of course work in this area, including the following:

002:010-011 Principles of Biology I-II 8 s.h.
004:011-012 Principles of Chemistry I-II 8 s.h.*
(* For new students, this replaces 4:13, 4:14, 4:16 sequence)
012:005 Introduction to Geology 4 s.h.

22M:025-026 Calculus I-II 8 s.h.
(Students who have taken 22M:021-022 Calculus and Modeling I-II (8 s.h.) are exempt)

One of the following:
22S:039 Probability and Statistics for the Engineering and Physical Sciences 3 s.h.
22S:101 Biostatistics 3 s.h.
22S:105 Statistical Methods and Computing 3 s.h.

One of the following:
044:019 Contemporary Environmental Issues 3 s.h.
An approved environmental policy or issues course

Earth Sciences Foundation

All environmental sciences majors must complete the following earth systems courses.
