Diversity Executive in Residence Series

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity has joined with campus and community members to launch a year long “Diversity Executive in Residence Series” where distinguished and influential University of Iowa alums can share their insights about diversity, leadership, global workplace opportunities and ethics.

The Diversity Executive in Residence Series does the following:

  • Combines academic preparation with real-world understanding
  • Enriches the learning experiences of current students
  • Expands the focus of faculty
  • Advises staff in regards to encouraging student excellence
  • Allows faculty, staff and students to interact with diverse executives who have a proven track record of excellence
  • Executives can address strategic focuses of higher education's role in preparing the future workforce

Executives must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in discipline with demonstrated excellence beyond formal training
  • Distinguished professional career
  • Supportive of the educational excellence and diversity goals of the University of Iowa

Executives will be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct seminars and/or lectures
  • Mentor/coach a diverse student body about successful transition into the workforce
  • Assist faculty with identifying changing needs/expectations of the workforce
  • Meetings/lectures with both campus and local community members
