Take a Study Break at May Daze Celebration

Students needing a break from final-exam preparation can check out University Housing's annual May Daze event beginning at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10, behind Burge Residence Hall on the University of Iowa campus.

This year's theme is "Rock Out Cuz School's Almost Out." The event will feature a Battle of the Bands competition between local and student bands, a Guitar Hero challenge, appearances by University athletes and coaches, and interactive activities such as an obstacle course, a dunk tank, and games set up by Iowa City firefighters. UI president Sally Mason will start things off with a welcome speech and short meet-and-greet.

A picnic-style lunch will be served. The Burge Market Place staff will grill burgers and hot dogs, and watermelon, baked beans, and soda will be available for purchase (students with meal plans can obtain tickets for the meal from Burge Market Place).
