The Chemistry Diagnostic Test (CDT) is recommended for students considering a major in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, pre-chiropractic, pre-clinical laboratory science, pre-dentistry, engineering, environmental sciences, pre-exercise science, geoscience, pre-medicine, pre-medical technology, microbiology, pre-physical therapy, pre-physician assistant, pre-pharmacy, pre-nuclear medicine, pre-optometry, pre-podiatry, or pre-veterinary medicine.

First-year and Transfer Students

Students new to The University will receive information from the Admissions office on when and how to access the CDT through their Admission Profile on ISIS. This information is mailed in the early spring or late fall prior to the beginning of new student Orientation sessions.

Enrolled Students

Currently enrolled students who need to take the CDT but do not have an Admissions Profile must register by contacting the Evaluation and Examination Service at 319-335-0356, the Undergraduate Chemistry Center at 319-335-1341, or by sending an email request to: ui-testing@uiowa.edu.
