preferred travel agency, or by calling 1-800-227-7368 (1-800-CAR-RENT).
If reserving through any source other than the National link
above, be sure to include the University's discount #5004461
in your reservation. |

For rentals originating
in Iowa City or other locations not served by National, you
may now rent from Enterprise under the UI National Contract. |
| Please Note: Rentals
originating in Iowa City that are exclusively for University Business purposes
should be arranged through University
Fleet Services . You may initiate the rental via
the Fleet
Services Requisition available on the Self Serve
page, under the Administration Tab. This allows the
rental to be direct billed to your department by Fleet services. |
For personal
or combined personal and business rentals, contact Enterprise
directly.
Click on the Enterprise
logo below and follow these
booking instructions for online reservations. If
calling the local Iowa City Enterprise office, 358-7000,
you must provide the Corp ID # VNG0210.
At
Step 1 type in Iowa City, at Step 2 select your dates, and
at Step 3 in the Optional box type VNG0210. Click
Search.
You'll be prompted
for accessing your corporate account, type in UNI.
Click Sign in.
The University contract rates will be diplayed. |

Electronic
coupons are available on the National Website. Paper coupons
can be picked up in our office or you can send an email
request to the Travel
Office with your campus
address.

Young Renters
An additional charge will be
assessed at time of rental when a renter is under the age of 25.
This additional charge is currently $5.00 per rental day and $35.00
per rental week at most locations. If the young renter is
on official University business, the renter must either (i) present
a letter of authorization signed by the renter's supervisor, on
University letterhead, which letter shall set forth the purpose
of the rental and specifically indicate that the vehicle will be
used for an official University function or purpose, or (ii) have
and use authorized credit card. When either the letter or
the credit card is presented, the additional Young Renter charge
will be waived |
Corporate Daily Rates in Canada
|
| Basic
Liability and Loss Damage Waiver Insurance is included in Rental Rate
in Canada. Some locations offer unlimited mileage. Others have mileage
limits and charges apply to any miles over the specified limit. |

Consultants and Contractors
Consultants and Contractors
will be extended all rates and conditions of the Agreement as long
as the rental is reimbursed in whole or part by the University.
The traveler will be required to carry a letter from the University
identifying him/her as eligible by stating:

That
the individual is contracted to provide professional advice,
to provide materials, and/or perform services; |

That
their work during the specified time of rental is directly related
to the University of Iowa; and |
|
That
their National Car Rental expenses will be reimbursed or otherwise
paid for by the University of Iowa. |

International Corporate
Rates and Terms for 2006-2007
National provides
specific contracted rates for many international destinations. Insurance
coverage varies by destination. Most rentals include liability
and CDW—refer to link below for inclusions, exclusions and deductibles
for your specific destination. Click the links

with multiple pages.) If you have questions about rates and/or
coverage, please contact the Travel Office at 335-0113.

Insurance for International Destinations
When and where
possible you should rent from National Car since insurance coverage
is included at no additional cost for most destinations. If you
must rent from another Car Rental Agency and/or
no liability or Loss Damage Waiver coverage is provided, UI renters
should purchase the minimum liability and LDW coverage offered.
This expense will be allowed. If you choose
to use another Car Rental agency when National is available it is
advisable that you purchase these coverages, but this expense is
not reimbursable.
All renters and additional authorized drivers must
be validly licensed and must meet the age, driver, and credit requirements
of the country of rental. |
