Get rewarded for improving
workplace
Nominations are being accepted for the Improving
Our Workplace Award (IOWA), which honors University
employees who see workplace challenges and provide
creative solutions.
Individuals and teams may be nominated. Nomination forms and past awardees are available at www.uiowa.edu/hr/worklife/iowa.html,

Books for sale
UI Libraries will have a book sale, 10:30am-4:30pm,
Oct. 18, and 12:30-3:30pm, Oct. 19, on the second floor of the
Main Library.
Several thousand children’s books will be
available. Also featured will be romance language
literature; Asian, African, and Middle Eastern history;
and popular and scholarly titles in other subject
areas.
Hardbound books will be $1-$2 each, scholarly paperbacks
$1 each, and mass market paperbacks 50 cents apiece
on the first day. The second day, buyers can pay
$5 for all the books they can fit into a grocery
bag.
UI employees can save cash
HR/WorkLife has developed a new web site at www.uiowa.edu/hr/worklife/uiedp.htmlwith links to internal and external vendors who offer
discounts to University of Iowa faculty and staff. The
links lead to information on the programs. When you
make a purchase, vendors will require a University
picture ID. The University does not warrant any goods or services
provided by any business participating in the Employee
Discount Program.
Wanna play?
The Division of Recreational Services is offering
fall intramural activities for faculty, staff, and
students, including volleyball, a scholarship run/walk,
bowling, dodgeball, badminton, basketball, and indoor
soccer.
