Offices and Awards
Patricia Clinton, clinical associate professor in the College of Nursing, began her term as president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Clinton also was recently appointed to the Iowa Board of Nursing ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) Advisory Committee.
John Hellstein, clinical professor of oral pathology, radiology, and medicine in the Carver College of Medicine, was chosen to participate on an American Dental Association Council on Scientific Affairs expert panel.
Michael Hogan, executive vice president and provost, was honored by the Society for Historians of American Historians, which established a scholarship in his name. At Hogan’s request, the scholarship helps to fund foreign language training by a graduate student doing research in the history of U.S. foreign relations.
Georgia Johnson, professor of periodontics in the College of Dentistry, was elected director of the American Board of Periodontology.
Amy Kristof-Brown, an associate professor of management and organizations in the Tippie College of Business, won the Academy of Management Human Resources Division Scholarly Achievement Award for a study of how well employees fit in their jobs.
Neil Segal, assistant professor of orthopaedics in the Carver College of Medicine, received the 2006 Jahnigen Career Development Scholars Award from the American Geriatrics Society.
