professor of orthopaedics, recipient of the George D. Rovere Award for Education from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Susan Birrell, professor of health, leisure, and sport studies, recipient of a Choice Outstanding Academic Title Award for a book she coedited, Reading Sport: Critical Essays on Power and Representation.

G. Edgar Folk Jr., professor emeritus of physiology and biophysics, recipient of the 2001 Ray G. Daggs Award from the American Physiology Society.
