
Longevity Awards presented for December
In July 2000, Staff Council implemented a service recognition program that
acknowledges all P&S and merit staff who have reached 25, 30, 35, 40,
45, or 50 years of continuous service at The University of Iowa. The Longevity
Award program is funded by a portion of the Coca-Cola funds allocated to
Staff Council programs. Longevity Award winners receive a certificate and
letter of appreciation from the Presidents Office, issued during their
anniversary month and distributed by their Human Resources unit representative.
Award recipients, as of December 2000, and their current departmental
affiliation, are listed below.
25 years of service
Mary Campbell, administration; Lana Lanoue,
obstetrics/gynecology; George Rasmussen Jr., internal medicine
30 years of service
Marlys Bartling, ophthalmology and visual sciences;
Gary Pence, Facilities Services Group; Margaret E.K. Hahn, admissions
35 years of service
Karol Dietrich, ITS-telecommunications and
network service; Thea Walton, dietary services
40 years of service
Maurice Brennan, dentistry administration
