WELCOME BACK!!!!!

Welcome! This year the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender and Allied Union celebrates its 36th year at the University of Iowa; it's one of the the oldest University recognized and funded GLBTA groups in the United States! With the help of people like you it will remain active for many more years to come!

In the years since Stonewall, the GLBT movement has made amazing progress, but we still have a long way to go. With this in mind, the GLBTAU's goal is to provide a place for all GLBT and Allied students and community members, to not only advance the cause, but to help support one another. More than that, however, we hope to provide a fun and safe environment for us all. A great many events take place during any given year, more information can be found in the calendar. For new and questioning students, particularly, the Q&A - GLBTA@UI section has information about the great many resources available in the Iowa City area, not to mention the GLBTA "scene," the University, and a great deal more. And if you're interested in the GLBTAU itself, check out the history section.

Remember allies, you are always welcome at any and all GLBTAU events. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are today, and we'll need a lot more help to finish the job. With some hard work and a little luck, we'll have all of the rights that most Americans take for granted before our 60th anniversary.
