On-Campus Resources

The Department of Rhetoric offers writing and speaking advice to all University of Iowa Students.  A commitment to a series of appointments is sometimes required, and slots tend fill up early in the semester.  For more advice, call 335-0188 (Writing Lab) or 335-0205 (Speaking Lab.) 

The Libraries homepage can link you to a number of helpful resources including Infohawk, online resources by discipline, and library hours.

The Computing homepage offers links to ITC hours, assistive technology services, and information on buying hardware and software.

'The Office of Student Disability Services (SDS) provides support services and coordinates academic accommodations for students with disabilities so they have an opportunity to participate equally in all aspects of University life.'  For more information call 335-1462 (voice) or 335-1498 (text telephone). 

'The Academic Advising Center teaches students how to use the resources and services of the University,' including how to make choices about majors and life after graduation.

The Tutor Referral Service provides undergraduates with lists of qualified tutors in a range of disciplines.  All tutors have 56 or more hours of college credit, 20 or more credit hours in the area they tutor, a minimum 3.0 g.p.a., and no less than a B grade and completion of each course tutored.  For more information call the Campus Information Center at 335-3055.
