Public Library Reading and Discussion Series

Humanities Iowa's Public Library Reading and Discussion Series is an engaging humanities experience. Participants from all across the state read and discuss books covering a range of topics, from Iowa history to autobiographies, cultural diversity to images of the mythic West. Humanities Iowa loans multiple copies of selected books to local reading circles, libraries, and organizations. We also contribute honoraria and mileage costs to bring humanities scholars to lead the discussions at local events. The Public Library Reading and Discussion Series is a great way to read and talk about humanities issues in a relaxed, interactive setting. Call (319) 335-4153 for more information.
