The search for a new director of the University of Iowa School
of Journalism and Mass Communication is underway, and the search
committee hopes to have the position filled by July 1, 2002,
the day after Interim Director Venise Berrys term expires.

budget cuts, according to The University of Iowa Foundation

Liebermann.
Building
to offer opportunities for convergence

Initial building design plans for the School of Journalism
and Mass Communication call for a three-story, 60,000 net
square foot facility with approximately 32,000 square feet
of space devoted to journalism education. The building will
be located immediately west of the Becker Communication Studies
Building near the intersection of Iowa Avenue and Madison
Street.
