| University Relations is an administrative unit reporting to the Office of the President. Our mission is to increase understanding and support for the University. Toward that mission, we work with central administration, as well as colleges and units across campus, in the creation and coordination of communications to the whole range of our audiences, from staff, students, and faculty on campus to friends and alumni all over the world. Despite the University's decentralized and autonomous nature, there are certain ideals and values on which Iowa speaks with one voice, including the preeminent value of learning, diversity, and freedom of thought and speech. University Relations works to provide guidance and leadership in the clear communication of these ideals and values. Our creative staff of writers, editors, designers, web developers, and photographers work together to tell the stories of the students, staff, and faculty who make Iowa an extraordinary place.
