University of Iowa News Services reports on news for University colleges, departments, programs, and special events except those related to health sciences (see below). The unit generates news releases that are distributed to local, state, and national media outlets. The staff also is available to help University units develop media plans and to monitor local, national, and world news on specific topics. The department serves as point of contact for journalists around the globe.
