| Each year, University Relations works with UI colleges and departments on a variety of special projects. A sampling of these projects is listed here. Be Remarkable Campaign The Office of University Relations is responsible for the Be Remarkable campaign, a project designed to convey the University's vitality and value, attract promising students and faculty members, and raise the institution's statewide, regional, and national profile. The Be Remarkable tagline, themes, and images appear in print ads, radio and television spots, as well as in University publications, web sites, and other communications venues. Variations on the Be Remarkable message can be tailored to reach all sorts of audiences—from prospective students to policymakers. For more information, see the Be Remarkable site.
Advertising Working with the Office of Admissions, University Relations Publications has for the last several years created and coordinated a program of television, radio, and newsprint ads aimed at informing Iowans—especially those high school students considering college—about the top-quality, affordable education available at Iowa.
Among the University Relations Web Unit's first projects was taking on the University Campus Maps site. The team rebuilt the site, recreated the maps, and now maintains the site, working with Facilities Management and Parking and Transportation to keep the maps up to date.
University News Services staff have for several years developed, planned, and coordinated a 1,200-square-foot exhibition space at the Iowa State Fair. The project has included overall site design, daily programming of exhibitions by campus units and colleges, as well as appearances by Hawkeye celebrities. The space is designed to highlight ways in which the University serves the state of Iowa and its citizens.
The President's Office and the Office of the Provost directed University Relations Publications to design and publish the printed version of the University's five-year strategic plan, The Iowa Promise. The University Relations Web Unit simultaneously developed the online version available here.
UI Facilities Management and University Relations Publications are working together to incorporate the UI graphic identity in the informational signs that are required at major new construction and remodeling sites.
