Since 1921 Philological Quarterly has published scholarship on Classical and Modern languages and literature. Articles should be well-documented, but written in an accessible and agreeable style. No particular scholarly approach or method is preferred, but articles should appeal to scholars with a variety of interests.
Recommended length for submissions to Philological Quarterly is 6500-8000 words. All submissions should conform to the documentation conventions found in The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ed. Citations should appear in the notes. Do not include a separate bibliography. Submissions should be accompanied by the author’s contact information, and paper submissions may include a 3.5 inch floppy or CD-ROM disk containing an electronic file of the paper, accessible by MS Word. If submitting electronically, please include your article as an attached file, also accessible by MS Word.
