About us

The University's Copy Center Services handles many of the document production needs for the UI community. The Copy Centers on campus print, copy, and finish University-related material quickly and inexpensively, in both black-and-white and color, for UI faculty, staff, and students. The Centers operate on a walk-up basis. A courier stops regularly at many locations and is on call for all others. Copy Center Services also manages the coin- and card-operated self-service copiers in the University Libraries.

Faculty members appreciate our one-source service for publishing course packs at the UPACS and Copyright Service office. It's seamless: you can send files via the Web from your desktop. We'll obtain the permission you need to reproduce the copyrighted material you've used, scan and merge hard copy with digital files, print and bind the document, burn supplementary CDs for your students, and electronically archive everything for future use. We'll distribute the UPACS we print directly to your students on request.

Copy or print? This depends on the number of items to be printed, the dimensions of the sheet, and the time you've allotted for printing. The Copy Centers print on 11x17-inch or smaller paper, with 24-hour, or less, turnaround the norm. Printing Services produces documents in larger quantities and those that are larger than 11x17 inches; require editorial or design services; or require colored ink, halftones, and precise registration.
