Announcement: We're transitioning to a new computer system for collecting your insurance information. Herkylaptop

For the past year, our staff have been working with UIHC staff to develop a new billing system at Student Health. On July 8, 2008, we will “go-live” with a billing system on IDX. IDX is the computer system that we currently use for scheduling patients here, and its been in place since 2003. The UIHC has used IDX for billing since that time, but Student Health used a separate system until now. There are many advantages to switching to IDX for billing at Student Health, both to our patients and to us as a clinic.
For patients:
1. More timely billing for services to your insurance company and less delay to your ubill.
2. Streamlined process for submitting claims to your insurance- will will collect your insurance information when you check in for your appointment.
3. We'll be phasing out the check-out process- when you are done with your appointment, you can leave!

For our clinic:
1. More efficient processes for collecting your insurance information.
2. More timely billing and reimbursement for services provided.

Everything new takes time to learn, so you may notice that it takes a bit longer to be checked in at our front desk, when you come for an appointment. Changes in computer systems are always challenging, so we appreciate your patience and understanding. It will continue to be our focus to decrease your waiting time in our clinic, but as we learn the new system, we are likely to need a little more of your time. It will be very important for you to come early for your appointment (always a good idea but really important now!) as the check-in process will take a bit longer. We’ll continue to work hard to get you in and out as soon as we can!
