Time Management

Managing time effectively is one of hte central challenges facing college students. Let's face it, no matter how you slice it, there are only 24 hours in a day. As such, good time management requires:

  • Not taking on more than you can handle.
  • Reasonably estimating the time required to perform required tasks.
  • Actually doing what needs to be done.

The purpose of this page is to help you better manage your time and "gain" extra time by doing the same tasks in less time and using time you previously might have been wasting. The following exercises and tips are available for your use:

  The 168 Hour Exercise
  Time Wasters Exercise
Planning So That Time Works for You

If you think you would benefit from meeting with a counselor in order to discuss your time management concerns, please contact the University Counseling Service at 335-7294 to schedule an initial appointment to speak with one of our counselors.
