First things first. Congrats to the hodags on another national championship. Congrats to Carelton as well for a strong showing at nationals, making it all the way to the semi-finals. Because of the success of both these teams, our region will most likely be granted 3 bids to nationals next year. Eyes on the prize IHUC.
Secondly, the new season is now upon us. Incoming freshmen and current students interest in playing:
1. Feel free to contact one of the captains on either facebook or through email. Sean Parker, Jake Bradley, and Alex Versackas.
2. Email jacob-bradley@uiowa.edu and ask to be added to the listserve.
3. Come out to practice. Everyone is welcome. Practice will be starting Tuesday August 26th and be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm out at the Hawkeye Rec Fields . We also have a Sunday Practice at 1pm. Take the Hawkeye Interdorm to get from your dorm to the fields.
Please try to make it out to one of the first few practices if you would like to play.
IHUC finished the season very strong finishing 4th place in a very tough region.
After big wins over St. Johns and Whitewater, we finally got stopped on universe point against Wisconsin in the semi-finals. A tiring sunday ended on a loss to Minnesota in the game to go to the game to go. Two steps away both days this weekend.
Best of luck to Wisconsin and Carelton at nationals.
The road to 2009 nationals starts now.
And then we won sectionals! After a few big wins, close losses, and injuries during the spring season, IHUC came to sectionals at full strength to go undefeated and take the championship.
The previous tournaments in the spring season included Southerns, Huck Finn, and Fools Fest.
Regionals starts on april 26th in Decorah, IA.
