facilities, services, programs and activities to foster a genuine learning

Life, and Satellite IMU Services on campus.
The mission of the IMU is to provide students, faculty, staff, guests and external
constituencies with facilities, services and programs which enrich the educational,
social and cultural environment of the university community. Services offered
in the IMU include a University Bookstore, food services, arts and crafts programs,
guest hotel and meeting rooms. The IMU also manages a campus information center,
two information technology centers and a box office. The University of Iowa
Student Government and student activity center are also house in the IMU.
The role of the Office of Student Life (OSL), formerly the Office of Campus
Programs and Student Activities, is to work with individual students and student
organizations to enhance affective learning through interpersonal skill development,
organizational leadership skill development, and socio-cultural awareness and
aesthetic appreciation. Student organizations and student government initiate
cultural, social and recreational programs through OSL.
