Student Health Education Services

(jointly managed with UIHC for clinical enterprise functions) The Student Health Service provides primary medical care for any type of consultation, examination or treatment that a student might need, such as a family physician would provide in a student’s home area. Services also provided include complete and confidential gynecological services and mental health service under the direction of a staff psychiatrist. The educational branch of the health service, Health Iowa, provides consultation, individual assessment and workshops for students on topics such as weight management, nutrition stress control, alcohol/drug use and sexually transmitted diseases. The mandatory health fee allows free and unlimited office visits with access to services provided.
