FALL 2007 WISE Learning Community
Orientation Picnic & Scavenger Hunt!!!
DATE: Thursday, August 30th, 2007
TIME: 5:00pm-8:30pm
LOCATION: Currier Residence Hall Multi-Purpose Room (MPR)

If you have a previous, legitimate conflict, contact Chris Brus (WISE Director, 335-3511)
BEFORE 10:00pm Sunday night, August 27th to discuss
Otherwise you are expected to be there! This is a REQUIRED event!
Remember This!
Living in the WISE Community is no different from living in any other community; all members have rights and responsibilities. WISE responsibilities include:
- providing a safe, quiet, controlled living environment where you can study and grow academically; building a supportive community of engaged, thoughtful, and FUN young women wherein you can grow socially and personally;
- making available a cadre of dedicated faculty, staff and programs that can be accessed for academic and social support; and
- maintaining a safe place (emotionally) where you can request and receive individual feedback and advocacy, as needed.
Your responsibilities are as follows:
ALL LC RESIDENTS
- Attendance at the mandatory WISE LC Orientation Picnic and Scavenger Hunt, including completion and submission of Parts A and B of the Scavenger Hunt!!
- Adherence to all residence hall regulations.
- Maintenance of a quiet, respectful, and inclusive environment in the WISE LC.
- Completion of the end of semester survey (December) and end of the academic year survey (May).
First -year students
- All of the responsibilities listed in ALL LC RESIDENTS above
- Completion of an LC Outreach Project by the end of spring break.
Second-year students
- All of the responsibilities listed in ALL LC RESIDENTS above.
- Follow-up with your first-year 'buddies' to complete Parts A and B of the scavenger hunt.
- Regular meetings with your LC 'buddies' throughout the academic year (once a month suggested).
- Participation in the WISE Ambassadors, if possible.
Third-year students
- All of the responsibilities listed in ALL LC RESIDENTS above.
- Follow-up with your first-year 'buddies' to complete Parts A and B of the scavenger hunt.
- Regular meetings with your LC 'buddies' throughout the academic year (once a month suggested).
- Participation in the WISE Ambassadors, if possible.
- Plan and coordinate a WISE event/activity each semester.
IMPORTANT: If you are considering staying in the WISE LC for a second or third year, ALL of the above responsibilities must be met to remain eligible. Level of participation will also be a factor.
