Campus
and community resources
- Student Disability Services—This University office provides and facilitates academic accommodations and services for students with disabilities.
- Assistive
Technology Services—This office is in charge of implementing
various technologies across campus to empower and enable University
faculty, staff, and students with disabilities.
- Center
for Disabilities & Development—This University-based
organization was created by the state in 1947 to improve the health
and independence of people with disabilities through research, training,
information, and health care.
- Goodwill
Industries of Southeast Iowa—This community-based non-profit
organization provides training and employment for people with disabilities.
- Iowa
Program for Assistive Technology—This University-based
state program works with consumers, service providers, and state
and local agencies to promote awareness and training regarding assistive
technology.
- Transit
Service/Bionic Bus—The University-wide bus service operates
two types of service for students, faculty, and staff with permanent
or temporary disabilities, including Bionic Bus, a door-to-door,
demand-response service.
