University Apartments
Some students—particularly those with families—may prefer the apartment-like atmosphere of University Apartments as opposed to living in one of our residence hall rooms. The apartment units, located at Hawkeye Drive and Hawkeye Court, include kitchens, bathrooms, and one or two bedrooms.

Students with dependent children are given priority in the assignment process for University Apartments as long as their housing application is received by May 15 for fall semester enrollment, by October 15 for spring semester enrollment, and March 15 for summer session enrollment.

Amenities

  • Free transport to campus—The University's free bus system, called Cambus, has three routes that serve both apartment complexes (Hawkeye Drive and Hawkeye Court) on approximate 30-minute intervals. The routes include the Hawkeye-Interdorm, the Hawkeye Hospital, and the Hawkeye Express.
  • One- and two-bedroom unit options—Apartments range in size from 521 to 630 square feet. The Department of Residence Services has Floor Plans available online.
  • Laundry facilities—Coin-operated washers and dryers are available in Hawkeye Drive Apartments for all University Apartments residents, although each apartment is wired for a washer and dryer hook-up.
  • Connections—Each apartment is wired in the event you want to install a window air conditioner, cable television, and/or telephone service.
