Health Management & Policy (MHA)
The MHA in the Health Management & Policy is awarded by the Graduate College. Instruction is offered through the College of Public Health. The MHA is a nonthesis degree.

Admission requirements
Applicants must meet the Admission Requirements of the Graduate College and the department offering the degree program (review the department's web site or the General Catalog for departmental requirements).

Tuition and fees vary by degree program and the type of student you are.

Application deadline: Fall admission only

• The deadline for applicants is December 1. Students wishing to compete for departmental financial assistance should apply by this date. Students will be notified of an invitation to interview by January 10.
• Applications from U.S. citizens and permanent residents will be accepted after the December 1 deadline until the admissions committee decides to close admissions, however, international applicants must apply by January 15.
• Interviews will be January 25-27, 2012.
• Admission decisions are made within two weeks of the personal interview.
  

Application procedures

• Apply Online through the Healthcare Administration, Management, and Policy Centralized Application Service (HAMPCAS).
• After being admitted to the MHA program, you must also apply to the UI Graduate College, although you need only complete the portions of the application marked with an asterisk (*).
  • Apply Online to the UI Graduate College
  • There is a $60 application fee ($100 for international students) payable by Discover, MasterCard, or Visa.
  • If you cannot pay by credit card, you may Download and Print an Application* and pay the fee by check or money order in U.S. currency made payable to "The University of Iowa."

Materials to send to Admissions:

• Your score on the GRE, GMAT, MCAT, or LSAT.
  • If submitting GRE General Test scores from Educational Testing Service, the University's institutional code is 6681, and department code is 0607.
• International students must send their official TOEFL scores from the Educational Testing Service (the University's institutional code is 6681).
• Once recommended for admission, international students must send a Financial Statement.*
