offering the degree program (review the department's web site or the General
Catalog for departmental requirements).

Application
deadlines
- Students are admitted for the summer semester (non-teachers) or fall semester (teachers).
- Priority will be given to students applying by February 1 for summer or fall admission.
- After this date, applications will be reviewed as they are received by the program faculty until the student cohort has been finalized.
- Applicants are encouraged to check with the UI Office of Student Financial Aid for deadlines regarding financial aid.
*Summer admission
is preferred. The number of applicants admitted is limited based on the
standards of the Council on Accreditation of Counseling Related Education
Programs (CACREP). Applications are reviewed when the pool is sufficient
to support a group interview process.
Application
procedures
For this degree program, you will need to send some application materials
to your academic department and some to the Office of Admissions, which
handles Graduate College applications.
Materials to send to the College of Education:
- Your official academic records/transcripts
- Three
(3) Letters
of Recommendation*
- A statement
of purpose, including a statement of your personal career objectives
and successful experiences working with children and/or adolescents
Materials
to send to Admissions:
- A second set of your official academic records/transcripts
- Your official
GRE General Test scores from the Educational
Testing Service (the University's institutional code is 6681)
- International
students must send their official TOEFL scores from Educational
Testing Service (the University's institutional code is 6681).
- Once recommended for admission, international students must send a Financial
Statement.
