Application
procedures
For this degree program, you will need to send some application materials
to the academic department and some to the Office of Admissions, which
handles Graduate College applications.
Materials
to send to the department:
- Your official academic records/transcripts (current and former UI students do not need to provide UI transcripts)
- Three
letters of recommendation addressed to the "Admissions Committee, Urban
& Regional Planning" (no pre-set recommendation form)
- A statement
of purpose, including:
- your purpose in applying for graduate study
and your particular area of interest;
- plans for your professional
career; and
- any additional information that may aid in evaluating
your preparation and aptitude for graduate study
- An Application
for Graduate Awards*
Materials
to send to Admissions:
- A second set of your official academic records/transcripts (current and former UI students do not need to provide UI transcripts)
- Your official
GRE General Test scores from the Educational
Testing Service (the University's institutional code is 6681)
- International students may also be required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores to comply with the University's English Language Proficiency Requirements.
- Once recommended for admission, international students must send a Financial
Statement.*
