Teaching
and research assistantships are a great source of extra income for graduate
students, and they are available in most University departments. Stipends
for 2007-08 are $16,277 for
a half-time academic-year appointment and $19,894 for a half-time
fiscal-year appointment.
Students holding a 25% or greater teaching or research assistantship appointment (covered by the COGS bargaining unit) are assured a minimum tuition scholarship of $1,962 per semester ($3,924 per academic year). This does not include scholarships for summer session enrollment. Rates are based on registration for 9 or more semester hours and are prorated as necessary.
