If
you want to enroll in undergraduate classes on campus, but you
aren't seeking a degree, apply as a nondegree undergraduate student.
Credit earned
as a nondegree student can be applied toward an undergraduate degree.
Should you decide later to enroll at Iowa as a degree-seeking student,
you'll need to submit the appropriate application for enrollment at
that time.
You may enroll
for a total of three consecutive sessions as a nondegree student before
reapplication is necessary.
Are
you in the right place?
- If you wish to enroll as a degree-seeking student and you have
not attended other colleges, you should complete the First-Year
Student Application. If you have attended other colleges, complete
the Transfer Student Application form.
- You do not need to complete a nondegree application if you are attempting to enroll in courses offered through the UI Division of Continuing Education's Center for Credit Programs. This includes workshops, extension courses, correspondence courses, and courses in the Saturday & Evening Program. Exception: High school students should complete the nondegree application and have an official high school transcript submitted.
