I wanted to go to a college that was large enough to offer all of the things I wanted to do. Plus, Iowa had an excellent reputation in all of the fields I’ve chosen—science, language, and music.
The best part about the University Honors Program has been getting to know other students. I lived in the Honors House in Daum Hall my first year. A lot of us had the same classes and similar interests. They’re people with whom I’m still friends today. The honors program also provides a lot of academic opportunities and support.
I’m planning to stay here for graduate school. This is my fourth year here, but there are so many things I still want to do on campus and around Iowa City. I haven’t even started to see all that’s out there.
I’d encourage students to be open-minded and willing to explore. If you use Iowa’s size to your advantage and seek out opportunities, you’ll never be bored. |
