During
my study abroad experience in Sicily, I participated in an archaeological
dig at an ancient Greek temple site. I also work in three labs. In
one, I’m a course assistant for the human osteology class, where
I help prepare human skeletons for tests and class use.
My
studies and work have given me an excellent peek into the future,
along the career path I’ve chosen—forensic anthropology.
Even
though I was interested in Iowa, I really feel that the school chose
me. I applied to, and was accepted by, the majority of the Big Ten
schools, but Iowa seemed so friendly and inviting. I got personal
letters from the school, my major department and organizations,
all offering help with my transition to college.
People
here made an effort to answer all my questions personally and took
the time to care about what I had to say.
The
University cares a lot about its undergraduate students, in addition
to all the important research going on here. I knew this was the school
for me. |
