I chose Iowa because of the outstanding reputation of the medical school, and I loved the atmosphere on campus. I felt at home when I visited. And it was also close enough to home without being too far away.

On campus, I’m secretary of Black Student Union and an active member of Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity, Medicus (the pre-med student group), and volunteer with the Center for Diversity and Enrichment. One of my favorite outside-of-class memories was going to my first football game with new friends I’d made in the dorms. It was amazing to be part of the rush of energy and excitement, and it was great to hang out with new people.
