the $60
application fee
- Online
applications require a credit card payment. If you choose to
download and print an application, the $60 fee must accompany
the
application. The fee must be paid in U.S. dollars,
with a check drawn on a U.S. bank, a U.S. postal money
order, or an international
money order. Make checks payable to The University of Iowa.
Do not send cash. Application
fees are not refundable.
- Have
your
academic records sent
- You
will need to ask every secondary school, college, university,
technical/vocational institute,
or professional institution you have attended to send us
your official records or transcripts. All records
should bear the original stamp or seal of the institution and
the signature
of a school
official. Documents not in English must be accompanied by a complete,
literal English translation certified by the issuing institution.
Records cannot be returned or transferred.
- Have
your
test scores sent
- SAT
or ACT scores are required of international applicants who
complete secondary school in the United States.
- Have your TOEFL scores sent
- TOEFL scores are required of international applicants whose first language is not English.
- Send
us your Financial Statement
- International
applicants requesting F1 or J1 visa status are required to complete a
Financial
Statement* showing evidence of adequate
support to cover the costs of one full
year of study at The University of Iowa.

are the same for international first-year students and international transfer
students, but they may vary by college.

After you apply
The Office of Admissions will evaluate your application for admission
and notify you of the decision, usually within one month of receiving
all
required documents. You
will receive a Hawk ID and password after your application
is
received. The Hawk ID and password will enable
you to access the University's web-based Iowa Student Information Services
(ISIS) to track the status of your application through your Admissions
Profile.

Accepting our offer of admission
Pay your $185 acceptance fee as soon as possible but no later than May 1, 2008. The fee is refundable prior to May 1. Your acceptance fee must be paid before you will be able to make Orientation reservations through your Admissions Profile on ISIS.
