Transfer Student Application Process
This is the application process for students transferring from another college to The University of Iowa. There is a different application process for International Students.
- Submit
an application
- Pay
the $40 application fee
- Make
checks payable to The University of Iowa. Online applicants
pay by
credit card. The fee is not refundable.
- Have
your transcripts sent
- Have
your high
school send a copy of your final high school transcript to the
Office of Admissions, 107 Calvin Hall, Iowa City, IA 52242-1396.
- Have each college you've attended send an official transcript
to the Office of Admissions.
- Have your
test scores sent
- If
you are transferring fewer than 24 semester hours
of credit, have your ACT or SAT
scores sent
to the Office of Admissions by the testing agency. Our
institutional code for ACT is 1356; for SAT, 6681.
After
you apply
You will receive a Hawk ID and password after your application
is received. The Hawk ID and password will enable
you to access the University's web-based Iowa Student Information Services
(ISIS) to track the status of your application.

Accepting our offer of admission
Pay the Acceptance Fee as soon as possible but no later than May 1 for summer and fall applicants (November 15 for spring applicants). The Acceptance Fee is $235 ($250 beginning Summer Session 2010), and is refundable prior to May 1 (November 15 for spring applicants).
Your Acceptance Fee must be paid before you can make Orientation reservations through your Admissions Profile on ISIS. |
