Honors admission requirements for transfer students

• Transfer students need a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher on at least 24 semester hours (s.h.) of transferable credit for automatic admission into the University of Iowa Honors Program.
• For students with fewer than 24 s.h. of transferable credit, admission is based on the Requirements for First-Year Students.

Individual review process
If you don't meet the above criteria and would like us to consider your case on an individual basis, please send us the following:

• A letter describing how you would take advantage of the opportunities in the honors program
• Your transcript
• A letter of recommendation from an instructor at your current or previous institution
