Maybe you like computers, math, and science, but you haven’t chosen a specific major or career yet. Or maybe you have chosen a major—like music or journalism—that doesn’t require a lot of math or science, but you don’t want to give up your interest in those areas.
The Explorations in Computing, Mathematics, and Science Living-Learning Community is a home base for students who want to explore math and science topics with faculty and students from a variety of disciplines, including computer science, geoscience, mathematics, physics, and astronomy.
All entering students are eligible for admission.
Activities include:
- Help sessions for your math and science courses
- Offering tutoring to others who don’t have your skills
- Movie nights that center on science fact and fiction
- Participation in research talks and lab tours given by faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
- Eligibility for short courses on interesting math and science topics
- A variety of field trips, such as visiting interesting geological formations or checking out the optical telescopes at the University’s Van Allen Hall
