Benefits of living in a fraternity or sorority

  • Social skill development—Membership in a fraternity or sorority brings a built-in circle of friends.
  • A place to hang out—Chapter houses are usually spacious, traditional-looking buildings that provide a social gathering place, study areas and, typically, housing for chapter members.
  • Opportunities for leadership and philanthropy—The fraternities and sororities are student-run organizations that include many opportunities to get leadership experience.
